Vi Brown, B.A.
Freelance Writer and Editor
'Freelance'-- this term originated in the Middle ages when a knight
or soldier was paid for fighting and offered his services - his lance - to any employer who paid him.
Today, it can refer to a writer or editor who works for a number of clients
on a temporary assignment basis and is paid for these services.
Vi's background is extensive and includes years of corporate management as
well as self-employment. She has an expertise in many business areas including sales, marketing, training and personnel.
Her experience and education result in writing skills that are
concise and precise.
Vi's extensive travels and high interest in photography makes her a natural
photojournalist. She recently returned from Kenya and Tanzania with some incredible photographs, observations and story
lines.
When not engrossed in technical pursuits, Vi has become a passionate fiction
writer. She particularly enjoys flash fiction. A complete story in under 1,000 words -- the beginning, middle
and end while also incorporating a point of view and sufficient character development to pull the reader into the story. Not
an easy task!
Writing must always be accompanied by editing. Editing is an art whereby
an editor ensures that the writer has conveyed the proper meaning to the reader. But the caveat is that the work must
still be perceived as that of the writer, and not the editor.
Vi understands the need for good editing and can help you with tone, clarity
and effectiveness. She can help you look as credible and professional as you are.

Vi will be happy to answer any questions and review any projects that you
may be considering - be it writing or editing.
